Agreements on the settlement of the situation in the southeast of Ukraine are working, although a definitive ceasefire may take some time, the chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, Leonid Slutsky, said. "You cannot say that the Minsk Agreements are not being implemented in the Donbas. They are working, but their implementation is stretched," he said.

The State Duma could ratify the agreement on accession of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union by the end of the year. This was announced by the head of the Duma Committee for the CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, Leonid Slutsky.The agreement on the accession of Armenia to the EaEU was sent to the State Duma on Tuesday by Vladimir Putin. The document was signed by the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia on October 10th in Minsk.

Sergey Neverov (United Russia Party), vice speaker of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, said that the parliament will not send observers for referendums in the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts in Ukraine, Interfax reports.Leonid Slutsky, head of the Duma committee for the CIS, Eurasian integration and compatriots, said that presence of Russian lawmakers was unnecessary at the referendums. He added that the parliament will keep in touch with compatriots and the civil society of Donbass.
